After the laps of several weeks !
Gov. Cox again sent for the "forgot- j ten man." i
"Tom," said the governor, "they tell me that you are a changed man since you went to prison. Are you?" "Yes, governor," waa the reply. "I am made over." "Now. Tom. do yon feel that you owe a debt to society?" "Tes. rir. I do." "Do ycu think that any man who owes a debt to society ought to lie to it?" "No. sir, I do not?" The "forgotten man" hesitated but a moment. Then he extended a trembling hand to Gov. Cox. His lip quivered a bit and there was a manifest effort on his part to regain his self -control. There waa an 'Idle house" In the penitentiary' In which 2.000 men were herded to brood, and plot, and decay. In his first message to the legislature Gov. Cox eaid that a prison was r.ot a place entirely for punishment; that fallen men should be dalt uith a good deal like ships l attored by the storm which are put in dry dock for repair. For the reclamation, rather than the punishment of offenders, Got. Cox Z'-alous'.y labored. Industrial, engineers were secured; industrial 'ihools were established, tractable

Today there are 800 arres of vegetable gardens conducted by the convicted mn who in the old days, would have rotted In the disease-breeding darkness of such prisons as the Columbus' penitentiary. Gov. Cox never pardons a man without i-eeing: him, studying him. questioning him, and reviewing all the evidence presented at his trial. Men are paroled whenever a proper showing can be made in their behalf and it is a matter of record that les than two per cent of the parcled Misorrs ever viola their agreement.". Under Gov. Millions have already done this. Leading dentists everywhere advise it. Now show your home folks what clean teeth reaDy mean. The war on film Dental science, tir; world over, is fighting a war on film. Film is that viscous coat you fecL It clings to teeth, enters crevices and stays. And most tooth troubles are now traced to it Those troubles have been constantly increasing. The ordinary tooth paste does not end film, so the tooth brush has proved inadequate. Millions know how well-brushed teeth have discolored 2nd decayed.
It is the film-coat that discolors, not the teeth. Film is the basis of tartar. It holds food substance which ferments and forms acid. It holds the add in contact with the teeth to cause decay. Millions of germs breed in it. They, with tartar, are the chief cause of pyorrhea. And, despite aU brushing, few escape these troubles caused by film.
New ways to fight it Now dental science has found ways to fight film, day by day. Able authorities have proved the methods efficient. Leading dentists evui yvvhero now urge their application. The methods are combined in a dentifrice called Pep sod cut To millions it has brought a new era in terth cleaning. And to every home a ten-day test is offered free, so all may quickly know it Quick, visible results Anyone can see and feel what Pepsod en t is doing. No old method of brushing ever brought such effects. So we let this test convince you. One ingredient is pepsin. Another multiplies the starch digestant in the saliva, to digest starch deposits that cling. The alkalinity of the saliva is multiplied also, and at once. That is to neutralize mouth acids which cause tooth decay. Two factors directly attack the film. One of them keeps teeth so highly polished that film cannot easily adhere. The effects of Pepsodent come with every application. We constantly combat in efficient ways, the teeth's gTeat enemies. And millions of teeth are given new protection and new beauty.
