for two concerts at the coliseum. The l.'nlted States marino band, composed of 50 artists, and under the leadership of ('apt. William II. Stantelmann. n dyed-in-the-wool Devil Dos marine, is known the world over is "the president's own." This organization comes to South Bend on a tour which is the trm in five years, and which lasts but 6 0 days. In order to make this tour it was necessary to set the permission of Sec'y Daniels of the navy department, fund of Pre't Wilson. The two concerts here have been arranged by tho American IRion in ord."r to stape a popular priced afternoon event for the school children. It is the aim of the South Bend post to acquaint th younger American citizen with the great work which is planned by the American Lesion. Committees in charge of arrangements will be announced within a few days. Seats will be on sale at the Oliver box office.

The Ktudebaker Healty Co.. capitalized at $55,000, riled articles of association at the county recorder's office Friday morning. The company will improve, plat, lease, mortgage, and well only the strip of land which was acquired last May by the incorporators from James M. Barrett and Charles C. Nelson and which adjoins the Vandalia. railroad. Five directors will be elected by the stockholders and the directors will in turn elect the orrlcers of the company. The incorporators und directors for the first year are James M. Uarrett, Marion A. Barrett. Stephen D. T?ond and Georgianna Bond, all of Fort Wayne; George M. Studebaker of South Bend, and Cnarles Nelson of Kansas City, Mo.
Mary L. Cop pens was divorced from August Coppns late Friday afternoon in the superior court atter she had testified that he had chased her with a revolver and threatened to kill h-r. She said that he had often struck, choked, and cursed her. They have lived together from the time of their marriage in November, 1 ? ö. until October, 131$. and have no minor children.
Commercial Secretary Quits Commerce Body Alex Jacobson, commercial secretary of the Chamber of Commerce for the past year, has tendered his resignation to take' effect Oct. 15 His successor has not been named, but applications for the place will h- taker, up within a short time by the local body. Mr. Jacobson came to South Beml from Janesville a year aico with F. J. Green to organize the commercial section of the Chamber of Commerce. It is expected that Mr. Jacobson will continue his work in p-ome other city.
