Wheat turned downward in price nt the bast Thursday after a show of strength during the first part of the session. Hedfrin? here asrainst purchasing in the southwest had a bearish effect. Tho close was heavyt He to 2 net lower, witn December 193 and March lOöU to 136. Corn finished lai cents off to cent gain. Oats unchanged to cents higher and provisions at an advance of 15 to 45 cent?. Temporary absence of selling pressure rather than any unusual demand was plainly responsible for the rains that for a while were scored in the wheat market. The backwardness of sellers was in turn ascribed largely to uncertainties associated with advocacy of an embargo on imports of Canadian grain and with efforts of domestic farmers for concerted refusal of current prices.
