Tho town marshal was notified of the robbery and made an attempt to stop the speedinp automobile, but the bandits met the. commands of the orflcer with a volley of shots from their automatics. Th- marshal's injuries while serious will not prove fatal, according to the physician who dressed the wounds. Notify Ircal Poller. South Bend police wer notified of the shootir.p affray and with automobiles and motorcycles scoured the country as far south as Lakeville. but could find no trace of the bandits. Sheriff Duck and :i party of deputies are sfill scouring the country in the hope of finding the men. When the robbery was first reported it was believed to be the work of the. same men who entered a west side clothing store and took puits and other miscellaneous articles, but an Investigation of the affair proves that the work could not have been done by professionals

Blanche Foster was granted a divorce Wednesday from Andrew Foster in the first ivil case completed by the circuit court at the. September session. Andrew Foster separated from Blanche Foster the latter part of 1919 and was ordered by the circuit court to pay her $10 weekly for support but he disappeared and on Jan. 20 of this year was declared to be in contempt of court. His whereabouts are unknown but the divorce decree was entered against him. Circuit Judge Walter Funk ordered the court to adjourn Thursday morning until Friday morning.
