Such has been the rapid progress of Lawndale Avenue. 'The most remarkable growth in South Bend," is- the way one man characterized Vassar Park's development. The lots on Blaine, Cleveland, Diamond and Portage Avenues, which fall in this addition, have nearly all been sold. Many beautiful homes have been erected. Now comes the formal opening of Lawndale Avenue one of the beautiful streets of the Vassar Park addition. Contracts for paving Lawndale, Diamond and Cleveland Avenues to Lincoln Way West have been let. Work is in progress.
In keeping with Whitcomb & Keller's policy, all improvements will be rushed to completion. A few of the attractions which have been responsible for Vassar Park's popularity and growth are: High building restrictions. Proximity to two car lines. Convenience to school. Strong loan values. The direction of the city's growth.
