Kegeris stroked the distance in 1:22 3-3, two and one-fifths seconds slower than the Olympic record held by Harry Hebner of the Illinois Athletic club. Norman Ross of the Illinois Athletic club, who won the 4n0 yard rational A. A. V championship in comparatively easy fashion. Jack Howell of the Oakland Athletic club, wh won the 4ftft meter stroke, was disrjualifie dafter Otto Wahle of New oYrk. who has been appointed coach of the American Olympic swlmmmlng team, protested that Howell had advance da shoulder instead of having both shoulders on a straight line at all times. First place in the event went to O. H. Taylor of the Chicago Athletic association. The coach left for New York Sunday night.
