"O ATHER a pertinent question no doubt some will say. Yet, its a question to which we wish many would give thought and consideration. Though the most of our customers have always paid promptly, there is a certain percentage of our credit customers who have become lax in the payment of their accounts. They know themselves to be "good," but for some reason or other, merely put off paying, not giving thought as to how it affects their credit. This practice has been common for sometime. Present day merchandising and economic conditions, however, cannot permit or sanction a continuance of it. Credit, is simply. a convenience extended upon the basis of prompt payment, and no matter if a customer is worth a million dollars, but is slow pay, that customer is of less value than a $30 a week salaried person, who pays when the bill is due. Slow pay (those who take their own time in paying bills) must get into the prompt pay class, or lose standing with these South Bend merchants. So that slow-pay cannot trade one month at one store the next month at another and then go to a third we have adopted our Credit

Your credit is just exactly what you make it. Your future credit standing in South Bend depends not on how CAN you pay your bills but how DO you pay them.
