JIY ARCIIIi; WARD. Nnrt Daino CorresiHn(U'nt. Johnny Mohardt will make another attempt to defeat a Big Ten conference club Saturday afternoon. Mohardt will hurl for Notre Dame in its second contest against Iowa at Iowa City. Notre Dame's defeat at the hands of Michigan on Ferry field Wednesday was a body blow to the thlckmeated Cold and Blue moundsnian. It was a tough battle for a pitcher to drop, and by losing the club lost the chance to wrest the western baseball title from the well balanced Wolverine aggregation. Two games next week, both of which are with state teams, will wind up the campaign. Indiana will he encountered at Bloomington Tuesday and Purdue at Notre Dame Saturday. A double victory would bring Coach Dorais' squad the undisputed championship of Indiana. The Michigan invasion the forepart of tho week uncurtained a new star in the person of Larry Morgan. The sandy-haired outfielder played both games and gave splendid account of himself. Ylctory IvxpeoKnl.

i Despite the fact that Purdue, j Depauw and Wabash are predicting victory in th? Indiana intercollegiate ! track and field meet at Lafayette j this afternoon, supporters of Coach I Ttockne's smiad are Knrkinrr on a

fourth Kucceasive state championship. Notre Dame has won the three meets held since 1916. Rockne will send a dozen athletes to the western conference meet at Ann Arbor a week from today and then the track suits will be packed in mothballs until next December.
