South Bend Man Arrested in Elkhart With Quantity of Liquor. Moon.shinlng in South Bend is reaching into many parts of the city, according to Mayor Carson, who Sunday addressed a letter to Bob Jones, the evangelist, in which the mayor declared that he stands ready to his utmost to "uphold" the morals of South Bend. In fact, the mayor intimates that the moonshining industry is getting beyond the control of the police department. Just before departing for Indianapolis to take charge of Maj. Arthur Lonn's candidacy for tho rf publican nomination for lieutenant governorship, the mayor declared: ' Fveryhody seem to be making wl.i.-ky in South Beiil." but he tdded, "They are doing it every where else, too." Other Kinds. Too. i However, moonshine whisky is said to be only one kind of liquor being tfold in this city, and South Bend is also said to be a distributing point for other cities in tho St. Joseph valley. Farly this week Floyd Klime of South Bend was arrested In Llkhart by the police of that city. Klime is charged with having in his possession K quarts of moonshine whisky, and that he was attempting to dispose of it there to patrons. When taken into the Elkhart city court Tio-sday. Klime pleaded guilty to the charge, but sentence was withheld pending a conference between th-- Klkhart county prosecutor and government orlk-ials. Authorits say that Klime is not only guilty of having the illegal pos.M'sien of liquor, but that he is also guilty of th federal liquor law. He is still in the custody of the; Elkhart police authorities. Klime told the prosecutor at Elkliar t that he was rr ?rely acting as transfer acent for other South Bnd men, and that hi? instructions

NATIVE RUSSIAN GIVES ENTERTAINMENT
Patrons of the Y. M. C. A. cafeteria and loungers in the lobby of tho association building were delightfully entertained Tuesday noon by a program of whitling bird calls given by A. T. Uablncoc, a native of Russia who was a member of the delegation from the Emmanuel Missionary college, Berrien Springs. Mich., which visited local Industrial plants. The young Russian Ftudent claims to have learned the calls while a boy. tending hi3 father's flocks of sheep. Early in his boyhood, his father was sentenced to Siberia for a minor infraction of the Russian laws and spent many years In the barren, bleak country, having been confined In 39 different prisons and camps during his term of banishment. During the father's absence from home the boy acted as herder and during the lonely hours spent on the plains with his flocks studied the birds and their habits and became proficient in imitating their various calls and notes.

If you want to keep your hair in good condition, be cartful what you wash it with Most soapi: and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali. Thi
dries the scalp, making the hairi
brittle, and is very harmful. Mulsitied cocoanut oil shampoo (which is pure and entirely grt ashless), is much better than anything else you can uso for shampooing, as this can't possibly injure the hair. Simply moisten your hair with water and rub It In. One or two teaspoonfuls will make an abundance of rich, creamy lather, nnd cleanses the hair and rcalp thoroughly. The lather rinses out easily and removes every particle of dust, dirt, dandruff and excessive oil. The hair dries quickly and evenly, and it leaves it fine and silky, bright, fluffy and easy to manage. You can get Mulslfled cocoanut oil shampoo at most any drug store. It Is very cheap, and a few ounces i enough to last everyone in the family for months.
Fo Get Strong and Put On Flesh
People who have tried it say that one of the quickest and surest way.i in which those who are weak, thin, nervous and run down ecu grow strong and put on pounds of solid stay-there flesh, is to take a 5-grain tablet of Blood-Iron Phosphate with each meal. This is doubtless due to the well known fact that RloodIron Phosphate quickly builds up depleted nervous energy nnd at tlv same time supplies the iron necessary to make rich, red strengt h building blood. If you are weak, thin, nervous, or are lacking in th old time vigor, endurance and optimism, go to Wettlck's Pharmacy or any other good druggist ami get enough Blood-Iron Phosphate ti last three weeks and take as directed. If at the end of thre1 weck--you don't feel one hundred per cent better and aren't in every way satisfied you can have your money bao for the asklntr. Fair, isn't it? Better tr it today. Advt
