The corporation has named a committee to confer with contractors and a&oertain whether an agreed pric cannot be made for a limited number of houses as an experiment. Tenants Tilt tor. Tenant are bitterly fihtine: what they allege to he "unreasonably advances m rente." .Some of them refure to pay the nilses or to move

unless they are piven 90 days' notiee from the expiration of their j current year, it being: declared by ! them, after thry consulted lawyers, that rents can not be raided on yearly tenants without regular 90-J day notice beinsr first given. I The demand for homes here at ' present is Puch that at least 100 J houses could be used. There are plenty of building sites well located,

but owners will not improve them under prevailing conditions.

Very often the ansTvr is that "muwer" suffers from backache, lumbago, or rheumatism. Those of us who arc past middle ace arc prone to cat too much meat and in consequence depowit limtHsalts in the arteries, veins and joints. Wc often suffer from twinros of rheumatism or lumbago, sometimes from gout, swollen hands or feet. There is no longer the slightest need of this, however, as the new Prescription of Dr. Pierce's called

N electric washer should not be purchased for a single year's washday-happiness; nor for just two or three years happines-3. It should be purchased for a life

time's use and a life time's service. Right there you have the consideration which is moving so many South Bend people to select Coffields. For when they select a CofHeld to do their washing they have effectively settled the washing problem once for ail. The Coflield does not merely "last a life time," it sives cheerful service for a life time. As the years go on it lo.-es none of its remarkable efficiency. Its parts are never troublesome for its mechanical perfection eliminates all superfluous parts. From first to last the Coffield has been designed, developed and built to stand the merciless strain of constant use. It has always been a quality washer; naturally it is not cheaply priced. There is no electric washer approaching the Coflield's high standard that can possibly be sold for less. The greater return in sheer satisfaction which it brings makes it wise to buy a Coffield. By taking advantage of our easy payment system you can secure a Coffield as easily as a cheap machine.
