HAND-PAINTED SILK HOSE COMING NEXT

MT"6?KOCJKr:. Ok la.. Manch 1. If a Muskogee artist has his way about it hand-painted silk hose for women will make an appearance here soon. According to Jack Brown, the artist, lie has perfecred a process

w hich will enable him to paint pic- .

tures on silk stockings with no ill effect to the texture. The process, it is understood, hrus been patented.

The newest spring skirts are pleated. Accordion pleats lead In favor, but cluster pleabs and those described a "knife pleats" and "box pleats" are also much observed. Pleated skirts nro exceedingly youthiul and these frocks of trlcotino and perge aro developed along simple lines adapted to elender figures. Wool embroideries in shades of blue, black and yellow worked on biscuit colored trlcotine, gives an interesting trimming to this dress with Its knife pleated skirt. The biscuit colored material, without embroidery, furnishes the collar and pointed cuffs. This dress fastens down the left aide front beneath the box pleat. The other dress displays an accordion pleated skirt attached to a blouse of matching blue serge, which i cut with short kimono fileeves, llnished with cuffs of cream colored Knglish eyelet embroidery. The turnover collar matches the cuffs. A variety of lingerie collars and cuffs may be vorn with this type of dress. Gray, white, ecru or old blue organdie bound with a bias fold of the material, makes effec

tive neck and sleeve trimming for dark blue dresses. The belt of this frock may bo serge or patent leather.

LAST GOWN ORDERED BY GABY HER SHROUD

PARTS, March 16. Two week beforo Oaby Deslys died her physician told her that she had not long to live, but he still clung to the hope that she would recover. She asked her nurto to telephone to a leading dressmaker and order three gowns, two of them to be pay toilettes and the third in white. Tho dressmaker agreed that if Gaby did not recover only tho third gown should be delivered nnd paid for. And that was the one In which the littlo dancer was buried.

Those New York robbers who were sentenced to 32 years each will have plenty of time to think It over. The Judge who meted that sentence deserves a certificate of honor. Reformer.

THE Standard Oil Company was a pioneer in the petroleum industry. From tnc day of its organization to the present moment the Company has put forth every effort to make and sell goods of the highest quality and alwavs has been satisfied to work on a small profit. It has made money for its 4711 stockholders by reason of the volume of business done. In its dealings with thr men and women who make up its working organization, the Standard Oil Company (Indiana) has maintained a policy of fairness and liberality which has held its men and inspired them with the high ideals of service which have been the key to its prosperity. Today the 22,000 employees are working as one man to increase production and decrease the cost of manufacture and distribution, for they know that their every effort is appreciated in terms which are substantial. The working and living conditions of the men and women employed by the Company always have been matters of major interest to those in authority. Under the plan now in process of organization, the employees will be given an everincreasing voice in the management of their affairs. The spirit of fairness which animates both the Company and its employees, in their relations with oneanother, hasagain proved that all that is needed to increase production and insure industrial peace is to make it possible for the employer and employee to sit down and discuss all phases of their problems man to man.
