A man then ran out of the rear door of the Scott home an started acrosa the Campbell lot to "Lincoln way. Iiev. Hoger." shot at him with a revolver and then Mrs. Jiogers shot, but they both missed the man. who made pood his escape. Mr. and Mrs. Heott are spending the winter at Peter burg. MILITARY FUNERAL FOR OSCAR VINSON Funeral services for Oscar Vinson, 1 1 I w. Eighth st., were held from the residence yesterday afternoon. Rev. A. 1 1. Keck, of South Pend, otliciatcri. Tip: Orra L. Snyder garrison. Army and Navy Union, was in charge f the services, which were in the nature of a military funeral. Mr. Vinson was the first member of the local garrison to die. About members of the union marched, carrying th'- American and the Army and Navy colors. The pallbearers were Fred Fischer. Fred Pecher. Fred Brumlller, Jhon Pranstrator, Ijoighton Pickel and Harold Schnabel. August Pysher acted as commander, Arthur C. Duggan as chaplain and Myron Storey as bitgler. DE A THS Jacob Dilmann, 73 years old, one of the city's oldest citizens and a well known character in this vicinity, died last evening after an eight months' illness. Death waR caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Dilmann. who was a member of the G. A. H. and served with the Seventh Indiana calvary during th' Civil war, w'as born in Mishawaka Dec. 2. 1846. and has lived here his entire life time. He is survived by his wife, two sons, John and Howard, both of thia city, and n daughter, Mrs. Charles Ilensler, and a sister, Mrs. Christian Wambaugh. of this city.
