ef long duration, and it may not be oxtrnsive in other ways, but there is to be rivalry, nevertheless. And South Bend is to be the rival of Universal City. In other words. South Bend is to be the scene of a moving picture film plot and story. Even the actors who are to take part in the South Bend production are. to be South Bend persons, and the story is to be written by a South Bend author. The film is to be produced by the South Bend Chamber of Commerce, according to tentative plans announced Wednesday. The film will have for its primary purpose the advertising of this city. However, it is to be different than the ordinary advertising film. It Is to have a story and a plot albeit, the scenes are to be laid in South Bend and the actors South Pend rrrsons. According to the tentative plans, the picture is to open with an old man telling his grandchildren the story of the St. Joseph valley. Through the story, which is to date back many years, the interesting events during that time, and the growth of South Bend from a trading post to a large manufacturing city are to be told. There will be plenty of romance and melodramatic scenes. There will be Indians and soldiers and things that usually go with an historical photoplay. The industrial plants of tlie city are to play an important part In the picture. They are to have a real part in it without having the appearance of having just been
