The bo; tr.1 of education nt its meeting last night decided to ask permission from the state tax hoard to issue bonds to cover the expense connected with the building of the new addition to Rattell school which is to cost approximately $100.000. It was deemed advisable to take this step before awarding the contract for the work. The resignation of Ruth Ringdenberg. teacher of the third grade at Bingham school was received. There are still two or three vacancies in the teaching staffs of the schools to be filled. The board took up the matter of the tax levy for the year which will probably be decided upon at the next meeting.

AT Till: LINCOLN TODAY. How far is character self-formed, and how far is it inevitably inherited? In her latest superpicture Florence Reed, the emotional screen and stage star, plays a dual role. First she p'ortrays a struggling young artist in the Latin Quarter of Paris, with its Bohemian life and Bohemian love. She falls into an error of conduct through human frailty. Her infant daughter, removed from every surrounding that may have influenced her young mother, is brought i:p and educated In the luxurious environment of a New York home. Reared and nourished in totally different circumstances from thoe of her mother, the young girl yet repeats the identical error of her parent. "The Cod? of Honor" is showing at the Lincoln theater today.

LONDON. Aug. 2. Charging that ' tho Germans are guilty of the same practices in Upper Silesia as in Belgium in E14, the Times and Morn-' ing Post correspondents in Poland, cabled combined appeal to Great; Britain to come to the aid of the; Poles. J i The dispatches, which appear in : i today's papers, accuse the Germans of massacres and wholesale deporta-' t tions of able bodied men for repara-j tion work in the devastated areas of, France and Belgium. There also have been systematic efforts, the: correspondents charged, to discredit! the Poles and drive them out of!

Silesia, thus insuring a plebiscite favorable to Germany.

Is "Organlrd CYimo." ! The Morning Post comments on i what it describes as "organized crime" committed under the nce of the victorious allies-, who are to be: held responsible for the massacres! particularly Pres t Wilson and Lloyd George. The latter, accord-' ing to the Post imposed the plebiscite policy on Upper Silesia. "They ought to have known." the paper declares, "that such a policy1 would provide the Germans with; temptation and incentive to crime. It is a hellish conspiracy. We re-; gr't to say we believe several of the; allied statesmen have fallen too easy prey to German cunning. The !

plebiscite is now mockery of justice

"HER CODE OF HONOR" It Stars Florence Reed One of the greatest emotional artists of stage and screen. The cast is one of the greatest ever seen in a screen drama. William Desmond himself a star, leads the support. It starts in the fascinating Latin Quarter, Paris, and then passes to the luxury and magnificence of life in a wealthy New York home, with gorgeous gowns and rich setting. It is a tale of two great cities. No, you have never seen this picture. It is a new one. Don't miss it.

If you own shares in a business do you want a Government employe to tell your executives how to run your business? If you are a loyal emplce, do you want a political appointee to have the power to injure your concern by hampering its operations or by interfering with its efficiency? Perhaps you have noticed the effect of Government control on the railroads, telegraph, and telephone. Bills have been introduced to license and regulate the packing industry perhaps your business will be next. You would probably dislike to have this happen to your business even more than you would dislike to have your daily supply of meat interfered with.
