PERLEY SCHOOL WINS SENIOR GIRLS' MEET

The remaining events of the pentor Kirls' track and field meets, the irst pu t of which was hld on Wednesday nirht, were run off at the .1. I). Oliver pl.-.yfield Friday nisht, Perley school winning with 33 points, r.eept-r finishing second with 15 points and the J. D. Oliver playfeld and the nliver chool tieirg for third with seven points each. The thrv events which were held Friday nli;ht were the running broad jump. the standing broad jump and the basketball side throwPerley school won the first event, distance 1 feet nnd six inches, Feper park was second and Oliver school, third. Th" standing broad jump was won by Teeper park, distance, mx feet and four and onehalf inches. Perley was second and J. P. Oliver, third. First place in the ball throw was won by Perley school, distance f9 feet and 11 inches, second place by Franklin school and third plae by Kaley school.

St. Jnsf-ph ounty had 11 representatives at the initial- mcetinc: of the first district of the newly organized Farmers' Federation of the States of Indiana held at Plymouth, Ind.. Friday. There was an attendance Df several thousand farmers. The r unties included in the district were: Marshal, St. Joseph. Laporte. Port ! , Lake, Starke. Elkhart and Fulton, all of which were represented. Th speakers, John C. Brown of Monon. Ind., president of the federation, and J- A. Warren of Kouts, Ind., chairman of the llrst district, emphasized the importance of federation amoni; the farmers, and laid plan.-, for effecting the organization in this district. E. C. Bird, county agricultural aent. accompanied the farmers who went from this county, including Georjre J. Burke, John Easterday, Henry Zimmer. Ed Zeitler, Sam Ieepr. Earl Böttcher, lt. 12. Geyer, Frank 15. Voder, Ast E. Matthews and Alex Rupel. On Thursday of next week, W. B. Millard, orpanizer for the first district, will be in the county and will meet a number of representatives of the townships in the office of Mr. Bird.
