CARNEGIE BURIED IN SLEEPY HOLLOW
TARRYTOWN, X. Y.. Aug-. 15. The body of Andrew Carnegie, steel magnate and philanthropist was laid to rest at 5:30 o'clock Thursday evening on a hillside in historic f.rpy Hollow cemetery overlooking the Hudson. Only 21 persons, members of the dead iron master's family and a few rltse friends, accompanied the body to Sleepy Hollow. Funeral services vrf held at Shadow Brook, the C'irneprie estate at Lenox. Thence it was conveyed by automobile to Sleepy Hollow. Scores of villagers, with bared heads, lined the entrance to the cemetery, aa the cortege approached, but the gates had been closed a half hour earlier and were shut asrain as soon as the cortege had parsed inside and none was permitted to enter. The brief Interment service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. William O. Merrill, p.-ustor of the Brick Presbyterian church, New Yi-rk.
