Aug. 1 : Deputy Will Farley, of the state prohibition department, was shot and killed by three moonshiners as he lay in bed at his home on Part's creek, near here, Monday night, aconling to reports received here Tuesday afternoon by W. Hallanan. state prohibition commissioner. Farley's wife who was asleep in the ced was uninjured. The shooting followed a rail by Farley anil Dvputy (I. S. Johnson Monday afternoon. The offices seized a stiil nd took it to KarUy's home. According to reports here, the moonshiners later went to the Farley home brcko in ami opened r.re as Farley lay asleep. Johnson, who was in another room, fired at the a-ssasslns but they escaped.
