He was in that division for several months when he was transferred to Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Sept. l, 1917. He was later Waco. Tex., where he served until nlaced in the SOth Held artillery. Jan. 1. 1918, when he was transferred to the 7th ammunition train. On July 15 ho was aent to Fort Merrltt, N. J. and on Aug. 1 mailed Tor F.nrdeauw . Fiance. He remained at Uordeaux until the armistice was signed and was then transferred to the Rhine and at present is situated in Germany.

The complainant said that on May 1l he was driven to the Hum village woods and after being assaulted was robbed of .$6. SUBWAY CASE Public Service Commission Refuses Motion of Railway Attorneys. Efforts of the New York Central lines, the Chicago, Lake Shore and South IJend, and the Northern Indiana electric lines, to reopen the grade separation case concerning the Lincoln highway at New Carlisle, before the public service commission denied the petition for rehearing Saturday. The case opened by the NewYork Central July IS, 1916, was heard by the commission and decided In favor of the county commissioners, the steam road and the two electric lines being ordered to elevate at the intersection of their lines with ' the Lincoln highway which is at the edge of the town of New Carlisle. The roads were ordered to elevate on an angle in order that the highway might run under the elevation In a straight course. The railroads endeavored to reopen the case with the plea that the costs of material has advanced considerably since the lirst order was issued.
