The larpest sum ever appropriated for relief in the Near Last $.,500,G0O. was voted here Wednesday by the e-xecutiv committee of the American committeo for Armenian and Syrian relief at a luncheon given by Cleveland H. Dodpe, the treasurer, at which notable men, includinp Amay Amsado Kikus, Dr. John H. Finley and others, told of the widespread deso.ution and misery throughout Asia Minor. The statement says that the corporation hmpes that its final shipments will start across the Atlantic by the middle or latter part ef June and that no rye or cereal flours will he bcusht later than Juno 10. There will be no further purchases of condensed or cvaperated milk, oils and fats, anel no pork products hae been boupht since March 1. FIRE CAUSES $2.500 LOSS TO RUSS CO. PLANT

A blaze was discovered shortly before 'J o'clock Wednesday nisht in a store room at the C. A. Russ Co. plant, Franklin st. ami Indiana av. It had pained considerable headway when eiiscovered by John Krismaine, nipht watchman at Ihe company's plant, and made such pains that a second alarm had to be sent to headquarters. Fears were entertained that it would reach into the main part of the factory and brinp about a larpe loss.
