turn to work on this basis Moriday. The men will receive CO cents an hour, with an cljiht hour day as the basis. The open shop will be maintained. The men demanded an Increase to Si 1-4 cents an hour and the closed shop. The Increase granted by the employer amount to 10 cents per hour in practically all cases. Inasmuch as most of the men were receiving 30 centn. only a few exceptional workers receivng ÖÖ cents under the old scale.

Practical demonstrations of home nursing will feature the work of the county home demonstration aent, Miss Juanita Mills, during the coming two weeks. Tho need for the knoModtje by the housewife of simple home remedies and home care of the sick was made evident during the inlluenza epidemic last winter and furnished the incentive for the two weeks campaign. The demonstrations, which are to b iriven by Mrs. Otto Arnold, a trained nurse, will include the lifting of a. person in bed, the changing of the bed while it is occupied, tirst aid remedies such as the making of temporary splints and the stopping of hemorrhages and other simple duties of the homo nurse.
