WOMEN DOING WAR WORK
1 During tho war women were calli ed into almost every vocation in life, and riht well did they assume the j responsibilities ami fill such posii tions. In many instances, however.
their strength has been overtaxed, and such ailments as are peculiar to their sex have fastened themselves upon them. Such women should remember there is a tried and true remedy for their troubles in Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, which for more than three generations has been relieving the women of America from some of the worst forms of female ills. Advt.
they must take action and take it soon." Pinchot demanded that Penrose be not given the chairmanship of the powerful finance committee in the senate. He said to do so would t.e lisastrous. but through the Hays harmony program, Mr. Penrose i goinr to be chairman of that committee. Woodrow Wilsn will hot bo acceptable to Pinchot. He call, the president "domineering, soorettve, reversible ami a dictatr." Hut to tlefeat the president, or any candidate who supports the president's viewpoint, he admits it will be recessary that a republican shall Innominated who is genuinely progressive. Pincht says he is icady to carry out the Roosevelt memorial idea by naming a republican candidate "whose purposes shall ho the same" as those of Roosevelt. In this manner, Mr. Hays can carry out his idea of promoting "the levelopment and application of the policies and KleMs of Theodore Roosevelt for the benefit of the American people," Pinchot says. Pinchot speaks to flv. (Goodrich

RIGID DISCIPLINE OF A. E. F. ABROAD RELAXED IN AMERICAN LEGION
NEW YORK. May 1. The rigid discipline of the American expeditionary force in France was relaxed during the formation abroad of the American legion, the proposed organization for veterans of the army, navy and marine corps, says Lieut. Col. Eric F. Wood, the temporary secretary. It was agreed that all rank should be laid aside in
No class of people devotes as much time to beauty as tlo actresses, and no class must be more careful to retain and develop their charms. Innuiry develops the information that in hair care they find it dangonus to shampoo with any makeshift hair cleanser. Tho majority say that to have the host hair wash and scalp stimujator at a cost of about three cents, one need only get a package of canthrox from your druggist: dissolve a teaspoonful in a cup of hot water and your shampoo is ready. This makes enough shampoo liquid to apply it to all the hair instead of just the top of the head. After its use the hair dries rapidly, with uniform color. Dandruff, excess oil and dirt are quickly dissolved and entirely disappear when you rinse the hair. After this your hah' will be so fluffy it will look much heavier than it is. Its luster and softness will delight you, while the stimulated scalp gains the health which insures hair growth. Advt.
