Heading the "speaking" attractions are Catherine Crawford's Fashion Models, who offer up-to-date styles together with catchy songs and latest dance steps. Hrn st Hiatt. a popular composer, sines some of his own melodies in a way that Is thoroughly pleasing. The Kiralfy Kiddifvt. two talented chil Iren, sing, dance and render in strumental - selections in a manner that prove themselves decided factors in the amusement world. Plunkett and Rmr.uine. a breezy pair of fun -makers, bill themselves as "Two Original Hoston Ueans." and offer comedy songs and eccentric dances. Cornelia and Wilbur, "pepful" entertainers, complete a program of unusual excellence. A feature of this bill is the Friday matine. which is held for ladles only, and the same night will be held the local models' contest in which pretty girls will compote for first honors. HOYVrS PICTPKKS. A picturesque motion picture tour of the chrysanthemum land, Japan, which is a feature of Lyman H. Howe's newest Travel Festival, com inc; to the Oliver theater Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday mat

inee, gives an interesting insight into'j,

the training; of the Japanese girl. The camera has caught some of the gymnastic exercises which are part of the young girl's training. People of the Occident have rome to think that only the r intended to be a geisha is trained in this fash Ion, but the fact is that the Japanese are worshippers of physical beauty and health ami, consequently, feminine training is universal. The geisha is, of course, given an unusual schooling in athletics, in order that she may acquire grace ami lightness of movement, but. at the same time, every school girl goes through a training which would be considered rigorous by her western sister. Aside from this fascinating trip through Japan. Mr. Howe's latest Travel Festival offers many interesting ltictuns. There is a strenuous canoe fishing expedition into the Canadian wilds, in which a daring guide actually succeeds in riding a wild moose across a lake; a trip through Yellow-stone National park, with close-ups of its many geysers, hot springs, falls and mighty canyons; views of Italian ski warriors in training in the Alps, with a whole battalion moving In battle formation down a mountain side with the speed of fomcts; a glimpse of a giant caterpillar tractor moving a two-story residence bodily; thrilling scenes, taken in the South Seas, of the capture of huge sen -elephants, sharks and swonllish: and probably the most remarkable aviation pictures ever filmed, showing just how it feels to loop the loop and do the daring tail spin, etc.. dirootly over the national capitol and the Washington monument. Mr. Howe's staff of artists has contributed some remarkably funny animated cartoons and film novelties to ANNA Q. NILSSON.

TOMORROW An out of the ordinary special sixreel feature, and we must go beyond the limit in recommending "Ä HEART IN PAWN" Picturized from the Japanese artist's stage success, "Shadows," and one of the best and most absorbing photddramas we have presented in several months, and incidentally the best photodrama in which our great Japanese actor, SESSUE HAYAKAWA has yet appeared in. It will hold every man, woman and child spellbound with the deepest interest from start ot finish. The fun will beTurnished with one of these Mack Sennett-Paramount two-reel comedies, "Rip and Stitch, Tailors." Also an extra added attraction, Spanuth's "VOD-A-VIL MOVIES," composed of five good acts of big time vaudeville something entirely new in pictures, and shown here every other Friday. And there are horses and cats and dogs in "Mickey." They are as Important to the development of the tale as is Mickey herself, the little tomboy from the mountain country. Mack Sennett has surrounded Miss Normand with a strong and representative company of promi nr nt players. among them Louis Cody, Tom Kennedy, Laura Iavarnie. Wheeler Oa"kman. Minta Durffy. Ceorge Nichols and Minnie IIa Ha. the Indian actress so long identified with the bigger wild west shows of the past 20 years. Altogether. Mabel Normand and her big company in "Mickey" should prove one of the most attractive bills of the season here. AT Tili: APPITOUirM. "The Way of the Strong." a powerful play of the great northwest, in which Anna Q. Nilsson is starred, will be the attraction at the Auditorium today. The story deals with the strong natures and passions of those who spend their lives amidst the grandeurs of the open spaces and snowclad mountains of the Yukon where convention is a word that finds no place, but where people believe that good is good and that bad has no other name: Miss Nilsson enacts two roles characters as varied as two women culd possibly be. First she appears as phe wife of a Yukon prospector a woman of weak characters and weaker morals, who all but ruins the life of her husband. Iater she plays the half-sister of this woman with whom the strong man eventually finds love and happiness. The play is said to lie one of tremendous force with pictures taken amidst scenery that is both grand and inspiring. As usual, "The Master Mystery" and the Chicago Daily News of late events are on the bill. The clever Japanese actor Sessue Hayakawa will be seen tomorrow in a six-re.?l drama en-1

An extra fine five-reel drama of romance, adventure, love and passion. Who can resist a story dealing with these things? You cannot, so lose your imagination in a gripping tale of the Yukon, that we want to recommend in the very highest terms, 'TheWayoftheStrong' Featuring

It 1 a colorful, human story of the Alaskan country, fairly throbbing with unusual characters and situations of tense interest. A story of love and hate told with all the effective detail characteristic of Rex Peach's stories. The virile, gripping story of the Yukon country absorbs the attention and the cold, white wastes, and terrible mountain storms have been wonderfully pictured. Russell Simpson gives a strong, human impersonation of the rough, but manly miner; Kay Igvurel as the shallow dance hall girl, and Robert. McKim the villian, are splendid.
