According to scientistr the first day of Spring is March 21st, nnd now we are really in Spring. The flowers are budding, as well as the grass in the park:, and here and there you can s e a wee bit of green on the trees. Everything seems to breathe with a desire to throw off the shackles of n inter clothing as soon as possible. Men especially are anxious to dress lightly, although it is very dangerous to do so. You cannot tell when a chill' day may come right after a warm spring day. Then you have a cohl and a good chance for either pneumonia or the influenza. To avoid this possibilty, as well as to clean out the system of the poisctis which accumulate in the system of the human being, it is the best thing in the world for you to take a good laxative such as Laxcarin. Laxcarin is the Spring medicine of nature and will help you to get over the uncertain and dangerous days of Spring. Cleanse your bloody your stomach and your inner system with a few Laxoarine tablets and look confidentially into the future. 1'se harmless and unfailing" rational and well known efficacious medioine which is known to thousands of physicians and used. Debs Will Call General Strike Unless Released
A Kit ON. O.. Appril 1. Eugene V. Debs, socialist leader, Monday threatened to cill a general strike of his party throug-hout the cour.try unless he is pranted a rehearing in the court on charges upon which h was convicted under the espionage act. Debs was confined to bed with a bad attack of lumbago at the heme of Mrs. Margaret Prevey here, when notified that the United States supreme court had refused him a rehearing. He refused to se newspapermen . but through Mrs. Prevey issued the following statement to the press: "The matter is In the hands of my attorneys in Chicago. I do riot know what legal action they will follow, as I have received no word from them as yet. "Unless something further can be done, the program of the party to tie up the country In a general strike will be fulfilled. I am prepared to fight to the end." When shown the report of the decision of the supreme court, Debs said: "That means that by May 1. the day on which I begin my sentence, a general strike will have culminated. It must not be forgotten that that day is the labor day of the world. On that day I have been assured that if the supreme court had not ruled by that time more than 5,000 lator
meetings would have been held asking for my release. "The miners of my own state. Indiana, will start the strike. These men came to mc at my hone in Terre Haute :,efore I started o.. my last speaking tour and told me that from the day I went to the penitentiary there would be no more coal mined in Indiana until the day I wis released. The movement will undoubtedly begin at once.
