PARIS, Saturday, March 29. Georgo Clarks, one of the stars of the University of Illinois football team of 1915, was the individual hero of today's football game at Anteuil betwen the 89th and 36th divisions for the championship of the American expeditionary forces. The score was 14 to 6 In favor of the S9th. Clark, playing left halfback, scored both of his team's touchdowns and kicked both resulting goals. The 36th scored in the first quarter.' when McCuller. left end. fell on the ball back of the S9th's goal line after a bad pass and a fumble. The punting of Lindsey. formerly of the University of Kansas, as well as his ,yund gaining, was one of the bright features of the day in the eyes of the supporters of the 89th. The punting of Mahzel. the big Indian right guard of the 3 6th. was a prominent factor in holding down the score of the SSth. After the game Geh. Pershing, who saw the entire game, went out on the field to congratulate the players. "You have carried out the letter and spirit of tho plans adopted to promote clean sports in the army," he said, "you have gone at the game with the same dash .and spirit you showed at the front, and it is the spirit that makes the American and the American's great game."

DR. L J. SMITH IS HIGH MAN AT SHOOT Dr. L. J. Smith was high gun Saturday afternoon at the weekly shoot of the St. Joe Valley Gun club, breaking 9j out of a possible 100. The Dr. also made the long run during the afternoon, breaking a straight of 6 2 targets. Seventeen shooters were on hand to participate, among them being Ensign Rud Jay of the U. S. Navy. This was Ensign Jay's first attempt at breaking the Hying targets, but he gave a good account of himself and only missed four out of the last 25 shot at. Scores were:
