leapue has had sharp competition all durinp the season, the teams beinp very evenly matched, even more so than in former years. The yearlings who are sore over the seniors' victory challenge them to a game to be played at any time or place to suit their convenience. The first game of the afternoon was the Fresh-Senior tilt which was expected to be very tight, the game depending on who was to have second place In the leatrue, )Ut as it happened the yearlings took the upper hand and swamped the juniors to the count of 25 to 12. The game started off at a fast pace, both of the fives exhibiting some clever rloor work, but the game had not gone far before the yearlincs supremacywas shown. The fresh center. Haas, placed the first basket and kept this
streak up during the whole half.
placing four baskets. Edwards and Mellander of the yearlings also succeeded in registering a couple which made the Freshman 16 points to the Juniors' 8, Wahl of the JuniorsVlropping three of the Juniors' four baskets. The last half started off likr the first, the Juniors playing their hardest to stop the onslaught of the fresh and win the game. Rut it was of no use because the fresh were bent on making the ball count, and ended the game with the score of 23 to 12, the excellent guarding of Smith keeping the Juniors from making any more than two baskets the latter period. The lineup follows: Juniors (12) 1 Yrslinnm (2.") Raum partner Edwards Right forward. Wihl Smith Left forward. Andrus Haas Center. Rirnm (C) (C) Mellander Right guard. I ose Smith Left guard. Raskets Haas 3, Edwards 4, Wahl 3, Smith 2, Mellander, nimm, Rose. Free throws Rose 1 out of 1; Edwards 1 out of 1. Playing theer last game of the season the Sophomores were bent on defeating the Seniors, in this way righting themselves for all the games they have lost. Thev started
the game loaded to the tip of th ir hair, every man having one object, that being to beat the Seniors. Rut they were slightly fooled for the near grads in the last few minutes of play took the berries, and the
championship by defeating the Sophs by the score of 6 to 10. The Sophomores has their hard luck while the Seniors seemed to excel in sloppy shooting. Every one of their baskets being made from difficult angles. The Sophs, bad luck was worse than the Seniors' good, the lower class men hising ten free throws which could have won the game for them alone. The game started with almost all the rooters pulling for the lower classmen. The near grads started off as if they were a whirl wind. Hurwitch placing a couple from the middle of the floor in rapid succession and before the half was up the Seniors had scored 7 points to the -Sophs 2. The last half of this game could hardly he called a basket hall game, the Sophs going into win with their all might which resulted in the scrappiest game staged this year on the High school floor. The fouls were fo numerous that Ref. Olsen couldn't keep track of them. This scrimmaging seemed to give the Sophs the advantage for they pilled up basket after basket until the near grads only had them by two points. The Seniors were not able to place a basket until the last fewminutes of playing which gave them the game. Lineup follows: Sophomores (fl) Seniors (10) Almack . . . . .' Hurwitch Right forward.

The curtain fell on basketball at Notre Dame yesterday afternoon insofar as the varsity competition is concerned. A light practice marked the finale. Coach Dorais, Captain Bahan, Rrandy, Rader, Ward, Stine, Vohs, Pearson, Smith and Hays will leave this morning for Greencastle where Notre Dame will stage a return engagement with De Pauw. In the meeting here two weeks ago the
downstaters trounced Notre Dame to a fare-thee-well. Since then, however, the locals assert and admit they have learned to play the game a little better, and they now promise lots of competition for the downstaters. Wabash will furnish the opposition at Crawfordsville Friday night. The Little Giants gave Notre Dame a regular football battle in the engagement here three weeks ago and trounced the locals. In that battle Joe Brandy and Raleigh Stine saw
meteoric luminations such as were
never before occasioned by a broken
nose and a fractured rib. Notre
Dame has discarded the football
style now, and the players have con
vinced themselves that games can
be won when played as basketball
should be played. They trimmed
the Michigan Aggies Saturday night, in one of the fastest and cleanest games ever played on the Lansing
Court. Wabasn lost to tne rarmers
on their big court a few weeks ago, so, if comparative scores be significant that Wabash spell might be dispelled after Friday night's contest. Notre Dame goes to Franklin for a game Saturday night. The team rests in Indianapolis Sunday and from the big city will go to Bloomington for a game, Monday night, with Indiana. The Hoosiers have been doing big things in conference competition this season. The game Monday night will mark the resumption of Notre Dame-Indiana basketball activities after a lapse of ten years. Relations were resumed between the two institutions last spring when Notre Dam beat the Hoosiers in baseball. Rockne's track athletes were out in full force all striving for places on the team which will meet Michigan at Ann Arbor next Saturdaynight. The athletes were in the gym .but Rockne was " elsewhere Over in Washington hall he scratched nwav on his Hoosier schoolmas

You can enjoy a delightful shampoo with very little effort and for a very trifling cost, if you get from your druggist's a package of canthrox and dissolve a teaspoonful la a cup of hot water. This makes a full cup of shampoo liquid enough so It is, easy to apply it to all the hair instead of Just the top of the head. Your shampoo is now ready. Just pour a little at a time on the scalp and hiir until both are entirely covered by the daintily perfumed preparation that thoroughly dissolves and removes every bit of dandruff, excess oil and dirt. After rinsing, the- hair dries quickly with a tluffiness that makes it seem heavier thn it is, and takes on a rich luster and a softness that makes arranging it a pleasure. Advt.
