The employes of the city are to be paid for the last half of December in order to have their money for Christmas, if an ordinance presented Monday nfsht receives final favornble action. An ordinance refunding to the Castle Theater Co. as a robite on .m unused portion of its amusement license was referred to th committee of th- whole. The same actUm was taken on an ordinance transferring 11,500 from the general fund. WILL SEND MAIL TO FORMER WAR PRISONERS Arrangements have now been made by the post oMiee department for sending mail to formei American prisoners of war who have rejoined the American forces according to the armistice terms. The war department will notify the nearest relative as soon as the release of a prisoner is secured and mail must then bear the name and rank of addressee, designation of company and regiment of which he was a member when captured, the words "American Expeditionary Forces in Europe." and on lower left corner of address side the words, "Former prisoner of t.-t in Oonnany." Christmas packages may be sent to these returned prisoners under the same conditions as to other members of the A. E. F.
