Reports to headquarters here up to 6 o'clock Wednesday evening from that section of Indiana Included In the seventh federal reserve district brought that portion of the state's total in the fourth Liberty loan campaign to f73.0S4.300. At that hour more than a score of counties had not reported the day's work and fieures awaited from those counties by Will II. Wade, director of sales for Indiana, were expected materially to increase the total. Marion county's fourth Liberty loan thermometer In Monument circle indicated the county's total at $10,000.000 by midnight. The quota of $23,400,000 faces the workers in this county. MARINE RECRUITING SERGEANTS TO FIGHT Newx-Tlme Special Service: INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.. Oct. 3. The marine recruiting stations at Lafayette and Anderson will be ordered discontinued immediately by Maj. Thomas F. Lyons, in charge of the recruiting in this district, as a result of a telegram received Wednesday from marine officials at Washington. This will leave four marine recruiting stations in the district composed of parts of Indiana and Kentucky, with the result that marines in class one who have been at Anderson and Lafayette will be transferred for active service. Marine recruiting for the signal corps and for mechanically trained men will continue. Maj. Lyons said today, but recruiting for all classes will be closed until Oct. 15. WILES YOUTH IS D j Pvt. Fink Dies at Camp Colt After Short Illness He Leaves Young Wife. News-Times Special Service: NILES, Mich., Oct. 3. Pvt. Edward M. Fink, son of Mrs. George Fink of tli is city, died at Camp Colt, Gettysburg, Pa., Wednesday morning from Spanish influenza, according to word received by his mother from the camp. Pvt. Fink was inducted into service Aug. 2, 19 IS, when he left for Camp Custer with a number of other young men who had reached the age of 21 years since the first draft registnition. lie was -2 years old when he fell a victim to the disease. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ieota Stratton Fink, whom lie married June 1, It) IS, and three brothers, Charles, Elba and George Fink of this city. Pvt. Fink was in the tank service, having been transferred to that unit at Camp Colt two weeks after his arrival at Camp Custer. His body was sent to this city Wednesday afternoon.
