"F company from South Fend is one of the best fed units of the Indiana national guard, and it is ready to tii?ht at the drop of the hat." This was the message brought back to South Fend by W. O. Davies, one of the army camp field managers of the Young Men's Christian association, and delivered to the Klwanis club at lis noon-day luncheon today. Mr. Davit s and J. I. The quota for St. Joseph county in the second Liberty loan may be lowered, according to Charles L. Zitier, chairman of the county committee in charge of the sale, who received a telegram from the Indiana Liberty Joan committee at Indianapolis, saying the amounts as published here, given out by C. F. Childs, chairman of this district, were incorrect. Slightly more than Fl percent of the county's banking resources will be taken as the quota, according to Chairman Zigler. The resources amount to a little let-s than $20.000.000, so the quota, according to the statement, would be about .1.700, -000. Mr. Zigler has wired C. F. Childs, the head of this district, for official figures, which will probably be announced at a meeting of the county bankers to be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the St. Joseph county saivngs bank. No report on bond sales are yet available.
