Road 400 Miles Long Running From North Sea to Alsace to be Built.
LONDON, Sept. 2'. An international houlevaid H'O miles long, stretching from the North sea to Alsace, is to be the great I'.elgianFrench memorial to the dead who have fallen in the present war, according to a British staff otlicer who writes to a Imtlon newspaper describing the plan, which he says has already received the endorsement of the governments involved. "Stretching down all that line from Alsace to the Flemish coast." he writes, "where for the last two years and more the tide- of battle has broken beyond recognition the face of the earth, a sacred road is to he built. Planted on either side with forests of trees it is to grow year by year, century by century into an undying and perpetual monument which nature herself will raise in everlasting commemoration of the wa r.
