Gov. Arthur Capper Monday night telegraphed Newton T Uaker, secretary of war, urging that the mobilization of Kansas troops in the na tional army be postponed at least 1 - i days. "Kansas is planting the largest wheat acreage in its history." the governor's message to Sec'y Uaker read. "Kvery available man in the wheat growing' sections of Kansas is in the held. A large proportion of the men drafted from the state are wheat growers. Labor cannot be found to take their places. The date set for mobilization will undoubtedly retard planting and seriously cripple tlie state's effort to produce a maximum crop.
