It was discovered, however, that a technical error had crept in. and the ordinance was referred hack to the committee of the whole. The meeting of the committee ol the whole now ohjee'el that no corrected ordinance was before it and hence tabled the oidiiiance that has heen before it for so lon. He stated further that the coun il may only be withheld from passim; the ordinance by moral considerations. For a time some of the councilmen held that tho ordinance should not be repealed V cause an injustice would be done to the present holders (if licenses but later they ave way to tho greater ood of the city. It was decided that should any objections be made b the jitney men, then action of reimbursement may be taken by the council. No Money for Hands.
