throughout the entire day. It was practically impossible to make any speed in the good natured throng which visited through the numeroJB exhibits and shows which are making the second Inter-State fair the greatest exposition of its kind. Starter Sholler again paid high compliment to the Inter-State fair Thursday afternoon on two occasions. The first was immediately after the stock parade. "I have never before seen such an exhibition of high class stock at a fair," he told the great crowd and later, "Yesterday, I told you I believed this to be the best half mile track I had ever seen. In addition there were more than 50 head of draft horses. The parade was as one woman expressed it, "beautiful." A near stampede resulted when a herd of cattle escaped their leaders and tried to holt down the track. The men managed to round the cattle up before they had caused any damage. Today's program is expected to attract another hu?e crowd. The racing program includes 2:2 trot for the Oliver hotel $1,000 stake, the 2.20 pace for a $300 purse and a 2:12 pace for a $500 purse. There are many entries in all events and some of the best .liorses on the grounds will start. Today ha been set aside as Crops day a nl the program includes virions demonstrations with grains, several lectures and moving" pictures dealing with agricultural subjects.
