The auto ride in the afternoon followed a variety of routes through the city and to Notre Dame. A portion of the riders stopped off there but all asfcmbled at t. Mary's academy at 4:30 o'clock for the ttip back to the city.
Struck Child.
Although a diligent search is heim; made by the police, no trace has been found of the driver i f the automobile which Tuesday afternoon ran over and killed little three year old Kstelle EihsU'dt, S. Laurel st., in the street in front of Laurel school. The child died two hours after bing run over by the automobile. As far as can be learned an automobile struck the child as she was playing in the street. There were no witnesses. The automobile passed over the girl and proceeded on Its way. A few minutes later the child was found prostrate in the street by passersby. She was taken to her home and medical aid summoned but died in a short time. No one can be found who saw the automobile. The police and the Coroner T. J. Swantz advance two theories, one that the driver did not see the girl or know that he struck her or that he did know it and deliberately lied. It is not known definitely whether the motor was a pleasure car or a truck. The child was injured about the head and had internal injuries which caused her death.
