Contract to fx Lot to I Yoyorniueh A. Mauer Other Koutine llusiiics IMlosol of. The architect's contract for the new Sample school received a lengthy consideration at last night's meeting of the school board. Other routine business was taken up. hut the board's activities were somewhat -hampered by the absence of Charles P. Drummond. president of the board, who will for the next two weeks continue under a doctor's i are. It was considered advisable that provision- regarding especially the margin of safety be written into the contract which is to be given to Preye-rinuth & Mauer, who are at present working on the plans of the building. Special provisions for adequate supervision by the school board were also considered necessary to a satisfactory contract. The final drawing up of the contract with W. II. P.urke Co., who will install a new system of heattnc and plumbing in the Madison school, was also under consideration. It was decided to postpone the final settleim nt of the controversy over the payment rf transfers from Portage township until the latter should secure a surflcient appropriation to settle the account in full. Other business of minor importance concluded the meeting. The question of th? athletic director for the coming term will not come before the board until after the installation of Supt. J. F. Nuner on next Saturday. It is possible
that a man will be decided upon at j tlie next meeting of the board, on j the following Monday. j
