REGULATION OF DANCE HALLS BEFORE COUNCIL Discussion of the dance hall ordinance will crnne before the council committee ef the whole tonight. The ordinance provides for the regulation and licensing of public dance halls, and also includes a provision that police women are to superintend the dances. Discussion also will be brought up on the proposed ordinance to license and regulate stationary engineers. The committee on streets and alleys also is to report on the 15 minute service on Chapin street beyond Chapin and Sample. A petition filed with the council some time aco states that only half hour service is being maintained beyond Sample on Chapin, and asks that the council take steps to compel the street car to run cars every quarter of an hour. Lionel Harry more and Wright Huntington have written a scenario for Gaumont now being filmed under the odd name of "The Criminal's Thumb." Alexander Gaden and MIf Iva Shepard have the star roles.

Hitting an obstruction in the road at a spot about three miles west of town, an automobile containing four men from South Bend turned completely over, plnnlnp the men beneath it. The accident occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday. The men In the car were Joe and Frank Kubiak, 2201 Bertrand st.; Frank Roznalarck, 511 . Jackson ft., and Vince Kulla, 1810 Sibley av. All of the men were scratched and suffered bruises, and it was thought that Fulla had broken two ribs. They were taken to the home of Alex Mayers. 1032 1-2 W. Division st.. where Dr. Stranz attended them. Officers Parker, Kemerley and Wendowskl started for the scene of the accident in the patrol wapon but lost the can. from one of the wheels and had to return for another car and tow the patrol hack to town. SIX POLICEMEN TO ACT AS PALLBEARERS ix members of the police force will act as pall hearers for the funeral of Hans Brandt, policeman, shot and fatally wounded while in discharge of his duties. The members of the force who act in this capacity are: Sergts. Stickley and Cordier, Officers Czeukasch. Adamski, Northrup and Winther. The following memhers of the ! force will act as an escort for the body as it is taken from the home of his sifter. Mrs. Rosa Witucka, it'll Carlisle st.. to it.
