Here i the latest true story of the Want Ads and their wonderful work. It is just one story of thousands, but it is typical of xv hat they can do and really do every day in the year. The chamber of commerce of the city of Albany, N Y.. two mcnths asu. receixed xvord from a certain manufacturing concern, which made gloves, that it xvanted to come to Albany and locate there. The only thinK that the concern wanted assured was that it could Ret 150 girls to enter Its employ should it come. The chamber of commerce of Albany, being a real, live boiy, at once ran a Want Ad in a leading paper of the city, asking for girls who wanted to xvork in euch a factory. The Want Ad told of the kind of work demanded and what the pay would be. So much for the facts of the first part of this procedure, engineered by men. The result of the second part of the procedure that engineered by the Want Ad was that in less than ten days more than .'100 girls' had applied by letter for jobs, and several score came to the chamber of commerce in person, despite the fact that the Want Ad told them not to do so. Albany, consequently, got a nexv business enterprise through the instrumentality of the Want Ads. Xow. the moral of this true, little tale is that what Albany did accomplish through a Want Ad, every other city and town and village in the country can accomplish in the same way. And, more than thi?. big business concerns, mercantile houses nnd private Individuals can get the same result in almost any conceivable situation. Just realize what this means: The chamber of commerce of Albany expended probably $1.50 on the Want Ads it kept in the paper for three or four days, and. In return, got an enterprise for the city which mean thousands of dollars to Albanians in business done and salaries paid. That is the usual size of the dividends paid by the Want Ads so just think these facts over iiid consider if it will not pay you. too, to read the Neves-Times Want Ads daily and use them often.
