.AtV THEATERS "NOIIODV homi:." "Nobody Ilomr" with its wealth of music, comedy and dancing novelty, will bo the attraction at the Oliver tiie-ater Thursday evening. The company is owned and directed by the well known Mr. John P. Sloe-um. who has made both a study and success of musical play?. "Nobody lloni" in said to be Nnique and original as far as musical plays go, inasmuch as it really has something of a story to start with which is told without re-sort to vulgarity and is actually funny. Then again the music k- of the kind that lingers in your memory and you find yourself whistlin ,'. The dancing ;s both fascinating and unique and lots of it, and then there are the girls who sing and dance well. The cast of "Nobody Home" includes such noted players as Percival Knight, llene Parker. Mabel Withee, Delia Niven. Itoyden Keith. Harry MaeIonough. Vincent Cassidy. Iw Christie. IMwin Argus. Helen Jost, John Paulton. Marguerite von Keesc. Seibel Layman ml Sylvia Chaul.-rie. AT Till: LASALLi:. Marie Walcamp is the featured player at the LaSalle today in a s'ory of modern society life, entitle-d "The Clirt." This is a Pduehird picture of exceptional merit, taken fren Booth Tarkington's clover story that ran in The Saturday Lvening Post. It deal with real American life and is interest ing in every seene. Lois Weber directed the picture and her experience in such productions a.. "Hypoe rites'' and the Anna Pavlowa fllm, speaks well for her ability. The cast is said to be e-xcellent and the character drawing very interesting. , On Tuesday will he seen the first engagement of Mary Pickford in "Poor Little peppina." The title role of this picture gives Miss Pickford an excellent chance for tho portrayal of a carelesvJ. ragged urchin, who later falls into wealth and becomes a society lady. It is said to be admirably adapted to this screen favor-ite-'s charm and personality. AT Tili: OlMMIi:iM. "Peace at Any Price." the title !' the latest chapter ef Pathes T.'ie Led Circle." does not in any way apply to the t,r"f''(ot international crisis. It tells f the dete Tnlnution of of a certain Circle-branded pirl to interfere in the inharmonious domestic affairs of a newly-wedded friend and bring- a-bout peace. .she eventuallv doesj remedy the situation, the prb e of peace in this instance beintf a very expensive hat which she steals and buries in the sand. The role of June Travis, the feminine Tighter of wrongs, whose methods are contrary to law, is taken by Ruth Itoland. Conscientious Detective LnTv.ar. who has thus far failed to hunt down the perpetrator of the "Hed Circle" crimes, is well handled by Frank Mayo. This chapter tells of an Interesting escapade of June Travis. Stealing a monkey from k particularly abusive organ grinder, she sends a telegram to the detective, who is in the city, telling him that a irele branded girl 1 as perpretrated the crime. On the beach she meets newly-wedded fiiends epuarreling over a hru which the wom;n is wearing". Whe n an opportunity presents itself, she steals and buries the hat in the sand. The next chapter will he called "Law Dodgers." Watch for it.! 1IAIIKY IjAUDKIC. Harry Lauder, the great Scottish comedian, who will be seen at the Oliver on April 11th. has been a busy man since he returned to England in December last. He went there primarily to see his only son, John, who was about to leave for the front, and who. having been wounded three times, is now captain in the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders, ami ha just gone back for the third time for duty in France, but while there Harry was appointed recruiting sergeant in his country's service and. organising a band of 15 pipers, he toured England and Scotland, paying" out of his own pocket all the expenses of tho band, and through his eloquent speeches got thousands of young men t enlist under their country's banner. The thing thut has endeared him to "Tommy Atkina" as nothing else could and has made him the most popular man in England, was his little visits to the various hospitals w here sick and wounded soldiers and sailors were being nursed back to health. Mr. Lauder, refusing many engagements, maio a tour of these hospitals in everyone of which he gave an extended entertainment, singing all his well known songs and improvising numbers that he thought would be of the greatest Interest to the sick men. "It really would have wanned your heart to nee how tho poor fellows appreciated my efforts to lighten their troubles, and it made me feel mighty good to think that I was doinK my part to make thein hapvy.
