THEATERS AT TUB AUDITORIUM. As a revelation of the inhuman methods sometimes used by a certain kind of brutal and often ignorant police captains, '"Acquitted." the new Fine Arts Triangle play being shown at the Auditorium today, is said to excel anything that has ever been presented before. Wilfred I-ajcas, as a lovable man of family and general ffood citizen, gets into the toils of the law. A police captain seeks to tlx the crime of murder upon him. When the third degree methods do not avail, he sends for the wife. The daughter accompanies the mother, and when the women appear in the police stationed the overburdened husband and father breaks dov n. Then the weakness of an admission wrung in moment of anguish is shown, but later a "dope fiend" is arrested and is induced to make a clean breast of his guilt. "Acquitted" is an adaptation for the screen of a short story written by Mary Roberts Rinehart. "lie Did and He Didn't." a two-reel comedy, featuring Itoscoe Arhuckle and Mabel Xormand. is also on today's bill. Tomorrow William Fox will present "Tho Marble Heart." a five-reel drama, featuring Violet Honer. Other pictures on the prouran? will be "Reaned Ry a Reanshooter," a two-reel comedy, with Charles Richman. Ieo Delaney and Kthel Corcoran In the cast, and the Selig-Tribune of current news showing many scenes of interest. "liTS MA.IKSTY RUMvFJl HI'.W." Jack Deverenux, who plays Max Fulger. AT Till: OKPHIIFM. The current vaudeville bill at the orpheum. featuring The Cansinos. Spain's foremost dancers, and Porter J. White, in a comedy dramatic sketch, have proven two of the most entertaining acts recently hooked at the theater. The dancing of Fduardo and Klisa Cansino has seldom been equalled from an artistic standpoint. Their native costumes and the attractive personalities of the two dancers add to the act. and the speed with which they perform the various numbers makes them highly entertaining. Mr. White, impersonating an entirely new character in the role of Jim Gaffney. a political candidate, in a new sketch which concerns women's power in politics, proves very Interesting. The other numbers on the bill include the Renninffton Sisters in novel songs; Thomas Potter Dunne In character impersonations, and Will and Kemp, acrobatic comedians, make up an entertaining program. "A Southern Porch Party." a classy singing, dancing and musical act. and Lasky's "Aurora of Right." a posing number, are vo of the principal features for the last half of the week. AT THIS LASALLi:. The return engagement today of Anna Pavlowa in "The Dumb C.irl of Portici" will give many an opportunity to see this elaborate screen spectacle who were unable to attend the former engagement. While Mme. Pavlowa has gained international fame as an artistic and classic Russian dancer, she adds to her abilities, unusual dramatic power. As a poor fisher girl In thin thrilling and dramatic spectacle she carries a prominent role and in the tremendous scenes of strife and carnage she is foremost at all times. The picture has been magnificently staged and has been pronounced one of the greatest photodrama.? of modern production. On Wednesday will be seen dainty Marguerite Clark in a story of the wilds entitled "Out of the Drifts." There are many stirring situations in this five-part subject. Miss Clark has the role of a Swiss Alpine maid and the backgrounds of snow and hills and great water falls are very picturesque. ASlv ABOUT Wi:ST COAST. International News rervtre: WASHINGTON.
