A goodly audience peopled the He-!
cital hall of the South Pcnd conservatory last evening to listen to the certificate recital given by Miss Ituth Kise, pupil of Max Wald. Miss Kise's plaving was marked by an assurance
and poise, whic h could not but be w ell j appreciated. The program which she: presented war interesting and well!
varied. of especial interest was IK
i nopin s t'oionaise m snaip minor, which was played with a brilliance and wealth of tone that were entirely pleasing. The different parts id "Marionettes" by Mae Dowel were played well with a good feeling for the variations of humor .and sentiment. The difficult 'Tlodcrinaus" waltz by Strauss-Schuett was given with much verve and effectiveness; displaying a command of interpretation and technic almost unexpected in so young a musician. Miss Kise On her playing) shows decidedly marxs of very systematic and thorough tmining. Miss Kise was assisted by Miss Margaret Krause. soprano, whose sjmpathetie rendition of "Only A Year Ago" by Tosti dil much to add to the attractiveness of the evening.
