Hackney, a local minister, being the fiist pastor. In 171 a frame building was erected on S. Michigan and Wayne sts. Kev. W. K. Mickles was pastor at. that time. In 1SSS the above property was sold and n lot purchased on tho corner of S. Michigan nnd Tutt sts., where tho now odil'ico has hoen erected. A brick building was erected in 1SSS which was used until last August when it was removed for the new church. Dr. Ogden was pastor when the second building was erected. The New Chruch. Tho new building was designed by L. H. Sturgcs. an Indianapolis architect. The structure including the grounds purchased and equipment cost : 4:1.000. The present now homo of tho congregation, strikes a rather new note in church design, being strikingly Grecian in style. The main entrance is from Michigan st., opening into a spacious l'oyer.
