infill .iinivs." "Huh Jinks," was hilled as a musical jollity. A better descriptive term could not be found. Tuneful melodies, clever sontrs and snappy conversation abound and tlie chorus was composed of numerous, well dressed women. The principals in the company which presentd it at the Oliver theater la.st ni'-ht phased the wall filled house. fcv ral of tho n.ore popular musical numbers rceiin r ncirr.s. Ac is usual in sa'-cessful musical comdy there ..is hut a semblance of a plot. Dr. Robert Thome offends a French o fieer by kis-ini? his wife. The officers d. mands his life or the pleasure of kissing the physician's wife. To esc ape either or both of the alternatives, the physician ensures the service of a beautiful widov and her supposed daughter, who is a musical comedy star. They co to a French bathing resort and the fun begins, so to speak. The show ct.s its name from the P'Tfume invented by a Dr. Richard Wayne of which one whiff is supposed to s"nd one into the suprcmest heights of h-ippimss. The perfume straightens out the various tangles which follow the flight of the physician. The musical numbers which scored were, Something Seems Tinle-inq:le-in-r." "Hubbies." -Jim" and "Iy.ve's Own His." Miss Amporita Ferred a Sylvia Dale, the widow's daughter, Uussel Dennon as Dick Wayne and Maisie fj'ay as Adelaide Fontaine, the handsome widow, perhaps made the most favorable- impressions. Helen Yeoia as Chi-Chi, a dancer, also scored.

AT Till: OltPIIFAWI. The new bill at the Orphcam today has for one of the features dainty little Winona Winter, as charming a headliner as vaudeville has to offer. Miss Winter has been at the head of her own musical comcdy company and is now presenting a (lever and original single act. She sings, presents a ventriloquil novelty and is altogether a delightful entertainer. On the same program will be seen Nana, a noted Parisian dancer, accompanied by a skilled assistant, M. Alexis. The Three Lyres offer inkling tunes to tickle the taste of tlie tired theatergoer. Brighton and Turner, the custom olllcer and the Irish lass, have a nw comedy sketch and Kollinger and Kenolds have an acrobatic act entitled, "Fun on the Wire."

Tin: .uniT(i:n:M. There is an especially strong show booked Tor the Auditorium today. "The Silent Plea" a dramatic appeal for the widowed mother':? allowance ir a three part Vitagraph featuring Kdith Storey .and Harry Morey. It was produced by Lionel Belmre. in cooperation with Sophie Irene Loeb, members of the New York State commission for the Relief of Widowed Mothers. The story is of a young widow left penniless with two children, s'he finds herself unable to support them and they are taken from her and placed in an orphanage. Growing entirely away from her good influence, they become incorriijibles and shortly after are returned to her. The little; widow desperately appeals to an old friend, a senator. Her story incites him to an impassioned speech in favor of tlie Widowed Mothers' Pension Pill, which is successfully pas.'xd. "In Spite of All" is an adaptation of the famous play by Steele Mackaye in three parts featuring Gertrude .McCoy. Tomorrow the famous beauty Lilian Russell will be seen in a five reel picture of her great success "Wildfire." "Cupid's Column." a Vitagraph comedy with Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew will also be shown tomorrow.

AT Tin: LAS alm-:. "The Avenging Conscience" is the title of the six-reel feature at the Lasalle today. It is D. W. Grittith's production, which assures its merit. Rased on the. commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Kill," it has been developed into a most mysterious, masterful ami sensational motion picture. It was suggested by iMgar Allan Poo's story of "The Telltale Heart" and by certain of Roe's poems of affection. The cast includes Pdanche Sweet, Henry R. Walthall. Spottiswoode Aitken and other capable players. The photography is remarkably clear and there is not a dull moment in the play.

AT Till: MA.ILSTIC. The Majestic musical comedy company began the third week of their engagement Sunday with an excellent production of "Lonesome Town." a musical farce used with great success by Kolb and Dill. The idea concerns two Jolly tramps who invade a small town and have a lot of fun wkh the inhabitants. The song numbers are particularly good and include, "It's a Lonesome Town." "Good Niuht Mr. Moon," "What Will You Do." "The Pick of the Family" and "Hickory Dock." New dances by the chorus of girls and new costume effects add to the entertainment.
