AT Till: OKIMIFATM. There is a lively and varied bill at the rpheum to welcome Fashion week iMtors. Frances Claire ana Cuy Kawson hae a. novelty in a juvenile act. entitled " V eMerdays." While the principal and the ciu'ht supporting girls are diminutive in size and kldalsh in actions they are not chi'dren and gio the finished performance necessary to mak" an act of this ?,oi t really interesting. A number of pkasi.ng and criminal .song numbers are introduced, the girls dance gracefully, romp through audience and make frequent c ostume changes. A special musical director is employed and the entire act is first class. Warren and Conley, w hilo handicapped on the opening performance by lack of costumes due to missing trunks, Fang, joked a bit, and played the piano pleasingly, winning many friends and much applause in spite of their handicap. Probably the most wonderful dog act ever seen here is exhibited by C. J. Tyron. ' He has one talented canine. Hector, that is truly a marvel and the sums of arithmetic are worked with an intelligence that is nothing short of marvelous. Bernard and Meyers offer a singing and talking act as the ignorant cabby and his passenger that amused. Conner and Tallman opened the show with a classy dancing act.

suini.Mtixi: movies thrill. Of all the moving pictures that have been thrown upon the screens in South Bend the most wonderful are the submarine views now being exhibited at the Oliver. Life beneath the waters is made visible in all Its varied phases, made possible through the ingenuity and the courage of Capt. Williamson ami his two sons. The bottom of the ocean is made to appear wh.at it really is, a part of the dry land, the inhabitants of the waters are seen in their daily movements and the submarine industries to which the world is indebted for many of its most useful products, is portrayed as vividly as if seen in the open air. this the tragedies of the
brought to light. The pictures first illustrate the means by which the submarine pictures are obtained and then show the apparatus in operation, disclosing in plain view the curiosities of the deep. Queer and beautiful fish, sponge and coral growths, the meadows and mountains of the under water world are brought to view. The work of the diver inspecting an old wreck vies in intertst with the thrill of one of the Williamson brothers battling with a shark ami killing the monster with a thrust of his knife. No one should miss seeing these wonderful pictures, which illustrate in a striking manner the marvelous possibilities of photography. at thi: lasalli:. The Lasalle shows today a fine western feature, "Buckshot John," written by that prince of story tellers. Charles E. Van Ixan. whose baseball
tales have helped make some magazines famous. A scene taken by moonlight, without artificial light; another taken on the beams of a moving freight train; tho rounding up of a whole town in an effort to capture a gang of desperadoes, and some riding that is thrilling even to picture audiences used to "Western" plays, aro some of the incidents that appear in "Buckshot John." The play -was directed by Ho bait Bosworth. Mr. Van Loan's fame is associated chiefly with humorous stories but in "Buckshot John" ho has furnished the silent drama with one of its finest and most original plots. An all stir cast, headed by Courtcnay Foote, supports Mr. Bos worth in its interpretation.
