From this were draped numerous yellow ribbon streamers to slender crystal vases arranged in an elongated diamond about the candelabra and each holding one jonquil. At the extreme ends of the table Avere low mounds of jonquils, smilax and ferns. The honor quests of the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Hering and H . Spaulding, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. MI.s Virginia Tutt gave tin; weekly parlor talk at the Voting Women's Christian association Tuesday evening. Her subject being the "Public Library and Its Uses".' Various 4iscs v.ere given among them were for general knowledge and pleasure. She spoke of the magazines of high rtandard ami the sort of reading matter which is expected of them. The newspapers of the cat and west and the late hooks of fiction were- discussed. The growth and circulation of the South Rend public library was commented on. The next parlor talk will be Mar. 'J. Encircling the lower edges of this turban of blege taffeta are folded bands of hiec, red and green, and over these again is laid a wide, regularly folded band of biege taffeta ending in a shirred ornament and two puffy bows at the side front. The crown is creased through the center in mannfsh fashion.

Jesse William Kiezer of Eolith Rend were married Tuesday afternoon at the home of Homer Judson, 1202 Lincoln way V., by Kev. T. J. Parsons, pastor of the Quincy Street. Paptist church. Only relatives ami the immediate friends of the couple were present. A wedding supper at the Judson home followed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Kiezer will reside in this city.

A. of South Rend has issued invitations to a large number of men to a luncheon at the association building on Thursday evening. March 4 at f. :2-0 o'clock. At this luncheon the men will meet Sherwood Rddy, international V. M. C. A. secretary for Asia, and will listen to an address by him on his work in that country. Mr. Fddy has become a world figure in Y. M. C. A. work. His activities in this field have attracted much attention ever since ho went to lnelia in lvj; to work among the students of the Indian empire. After completing his work of preparation at Yale, Union and Princeton, Mr. Fddy took up Y. M. C. A. work in oriental countries on his own expense and has continued on that basis ever Fince. In lit 12-1 :i Mr. Fddy was enuaued with John Mott in coinlia ting meetings lor students throusihout Asia. In 1914 he conducted a great campaign anions the young men, principaly among stud( nts and ollicial classes of China. In this work Mr. Fddy achieved won-ib-rs, and will have much to say on this subject to his audience on Thursday ovenimr. There are a number of book credited to Mr. Rddy's authoriship, among them "Supreme Decision of the Christian Student," "New lira in Asia," "The Student of Asia," and books on Rible study.
