thi: auctiom:i:ii. In "Tho Auctioneer," which David Warfieb! will bring to the Oliver Friday evening the comedy in the second act is helped along considerably by three characters simply designated on the program as "tho giggling girls." They are supposed to bo silly oung school girls who giggle at everybody and everything at the slightst provocation. "The giggling girls," since "The Auctioneer" was first produced thirteen years ago, have almost as interesting a history as the famous Floradora sextet. Tho well known dancer, Kuth St. Dennis was one of tho original "giggling girls," th other two being Corah Adams, a well known character actress, and Elizabeth Berkley, yho played the ingenue rede of llelga for a short time, and then retired from professional life to marry a well known Wall street broker. tiii: AUDiTomrM. The groat suffrage picture "Vour Girl and Mine" is the attraction at tho Auditorium today. Tho cant is a strong one and includes Olive Wyndham, Kathcrino Kaelred. Sydney Booth, John Charles, Katherlne Henry and about three hundred others. Dr. Anna Howard Shaw the famous suffrage leader also appears In the picture. It's a big play with a big mission built cn a big scale. The eighth episode of the "Kxplolts of Elaine" entitled "Tho Hidden Voice" given in two reels is tomorrow's feature. This detective serial by Arthur Iteeves, the most clever writer of detective stories In this country. Is creating a lot of interest. Arnold Daly as "Craig" Kennedy, the detective, Pearl White as Elaine Dodge, Sheldon Lnvis as Perry' Bennett, the lawyer, and Creighton Halo as Walter Johnson, a reporter are all great in their parts and never fail to please. "The Fable of Elvira and Farina and the Meal Ticket" by George Ade, "Fates Protecting Arm," a Biograph drama and "The Three Hats," a Biograph comedy will also be shown tomorrow. Friday William Farnum will appear in "The Gilded Fool," one of Nat Goodwin's old plays that scored a big success. "POTASH AND ll:IUMlTTTI:ll. "I've got it a heart, iMr. Steuerman, and my daughter has got it a heart." plead.? Abe Potash to Henry Steuerman, the philanthropist, in the second act of "Potash and Perlmutter." "And me," breaks in his partner Morris Perlmutter, "ain't 1 got it a heart?" "I understand." says Steuerman, ?oothingly, and the audience too understand?, for, after all, hearts are trumps in this dramatic game of love nnd law, pinochle and politics that lias been laughed and wept over for two BcaFons in New York city and which Manager A. H. Woods will present at the Oliver Thursday evening. "Pota-sh and Perlmutter" will bo presented with a company of splendid artists, including Lew Welch, Jules Jordan, Edward Shoben, Thos. J. Tempest, Joseph Sterling, Fred Fleck, Jr.. J. Woodford Bay, W. II. Lreyden, J. Irving Southard, Robert Barber. Jano Fearnley, Kathcrino DoBarn'. Jean King, Mildred Barker, Ethel Brice, Dolly Gray, Mabel Vane tte. at thi: ORPinxM. Nina Morris and her clever company of dramatic players heads tho new bill which opened Monday. Owing to delayed trains it was necessary to omit the act at the matinee but the evening performances ran as smoothly as could have been desired. The play has a tense plot dealing with a Japanetjo spy who endeavors to destroy government fortifications. Clever detectivo work on the part of an American girl, capably played by Miss Morris, prevents the carrying out of the plans. The topic is timely nnd the supporting cast assists cabably in giving an excellent performance. Hay Raymond and Forence Bain offered a novelty skit entitled "Locked Out." A pretentious drop gives the j scene realism and the patter, song and A 1 iJ .11 i I I . J I me romanuc looung is niceiy uone. The attractive personality of tho players adds much to the act. Tho Ambler brothers presented a neatly dressed and unusually clever equilibrist performance. The balancing on special ladders and frames is most skillfully accomplished. Ilavrlcy and ARE WOMEN NATURALLY DESPONDENT? A prominent writer so claims. Women are constituted with a delicate organism and in nine cases out of ten mental depression may be attributed to an abnormal condition of the system, which expresses itself in nervousness, sleeplessness, backache, headache, causing constant misery and as a result despondency. Lydla E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, a simple remedy made from roots and herbs. Is the one great remedy for tMs condition. It goes to the root of the trouble and overcomes despondency.
