George Hussanl, a cement eontraetor here, found undor a house on which lie was working an old hook that was used for a. register and to keep aeeounts in an old-time tavern that was kept in Huntington hy Catherine McClelland. The hook was used for this purpose, according to entries, in 1S4 1 and 1S47. The hook contains the accounts of many persons and its employment as a register is clearly indicated. In the hook meals were charged at cents each, two meals for :'.7 1-2 cents, and a man and his horse were kept three days for a fewcents more than $:;. in each case mention was made of horses, then the only means of traveling through the country. Cnconscious from exposure and hunger, Charles Schletzly, aged ahout r2 years and unmarried, was found at noon Monday on the John Cring farm, three miles east of this city. The suffering man was taken to the county infirmary, to which place he was urged to go several weeks ago hut declined. Schletzly, some time in November, was ousted from a house on the M. J. Hodge .farm, adjoining the Cring land. Ho had heen living alone there and when he had failed to settle his rental for some time Hodge caused him to vacate.
