Notre Dame's head gardener has within the past week received the news of the death of his son and his son-in-law from the battlefields of Europe. Dominic Buchowicz, who is well known at Notre Dame and the vicinity, received the news of the death of his son-in-law about a week ago and was told how he fell in the battle against the Russians. Yesterday a letter from the Austrian Red Cross reached him announcing the death of his son in the west, where he was engaged in the battle against the French and British. The .rvo families dwelt in the same household, and this was the old home of Mr. Buchowirz not far from Vienna.
