A scries of banquets to h given by the Women's DinliiR club was opened Tuesday evening with a banquet at the Oliver hotel. In the nature of a "Who's who" affair, the event was one of special interest, each girl responding to a toast with the story of her vork after introducing herself. The responses were all clever and interesting. Dinner was served in the private dinning room at 7 " o'clock where decorations for the table were carried out in yellow and white, pom pon chrysanthemums rlmiring as centerpiece. Yellow candles completed the effect. Following the banquet musical numbers were furnished on the cello by Miss Nellie Woolman, accompanied by Miss Beatrice Wolfe. were crowded into two hours oi commemoration at the Robertson Bros. Co. store last night, where the employes, women and men, were the guests of the firm at a dinner served in the cafe. Ten years ago George A. Robertson and brother started business in a comparatively small way. They employed 16 clerks. At the tenth

anniversary dinner this number ha.s increased a thousand percent. The force now required to serve the patrons of the store numbers 160. Anions these are two, Miss: Ryan and Miss Cowand, who were members of the original force. Th?y were the guests of honor at the annisersary celebration and occupied seats on either side of George A. Robertson, the head of the house. Mr. Robertson made special reference to these two members of his force in presenting his compliments to his guests and said they were examples of the loyalty on the part of his employes, which had enabled he firm to make the remarkable progress it had achieved. C. X. Fassett paid a trioute to Mr. Robertson's energy and enterprise, his high qualities as a merchant and a citizen and spoke "of the wonderful growth of the business from its nucleus to its present large proportions. Humble treated at some lengths of the cordial relations existing among the employes and between them and their employes and of the fine spirit of friendly rivalry that prevails among them in looking after the interests of the business.
