It is believed at the war othee that the attack on Warsaw will not be resumed until the conflict about Ivangorod is decided. Though the Gorman advance guards at one time arrived within live miles of Warsaw, they were unable to bring- up their aitillery because of heavy rains. The railway from Lowicz to Warsaw was destroyed by the Bussians before the Germans reached that region and it will have to be rebuilt before the Germans can bring up their heavy guns. .Must Cns Morass. In advancing on Warsaw the Germans will have to traverse the district about Iowicz, Skierniewice and continue north. This is flat and has been turned to a morass by the recent rains. Only the reconstruction of the railway or the freezing of the ground will permit the Germans to get through the heavy guns that are necessary for the reduction of the Warsaw fortifications. The correspondent at military headquarters sends the following 'iispateh, telling- of a trap into which the Austro-Gormah forces were led at Josefowe: "More than U.000 of the enemy's troops Mere killed at Josefowe by a ruse of the Bussian commander. "When the Austro-German troops approached the Vistula with the intention of crossing he feigned a retreat. Before the enemy arrived, however, he had concealed a number of batteries on the east bank of the Vistula. "Thinking the river was unguarded, the enemy started to cross the stream on rafts in force. When the rafts had nearly reached the eastern bank tho hiiiden Russians opened fire un macnine guns and rules. Unable to retreat, the Austro-German troops propelled their rafts to shore under the deadly hail. As soon as the survivors had landed the Russians charged with bayonets and completed the debacle."
