BEACHEY MAKES MARK ON LOOPING THE LOOP SANTA BARHAUA. Cal.. March 2. Lincoln Heachey Sunday afternoon
i at Hope Ranch Park, broke his own
world's record for looping the loop. Hi.; former best performance consisted of seven loops. Today, according to (Hen Martin, an experienced air man. who was on tho ground, Heachey turned his machine over no less than 12 times. "After that I quit counting." said Martin. Reachey's record was established by accident. In a new machine, one he had never tested and one that had never been off the ground, he found himself powerless to stop the revolution. after he had accomplished the
first one. and the machine did not stop turning "over until within perhaps four hundred feet of the earth xvith a, coo spectators directly underneath. There was no open spot on which ho could light and he deliberately steered the machine into a tree. The machine was wrecked, the re shattered, but Heachey escaped with a few scratches about the face.
