(,'Iunoo Jllouso KfTivt. A Poiret blouse decidedly Chinese in effect, is shown in the same win- j dow. It is of white silk, quite plain j
with kimona sleeve and falling straight down from the neck, which is finished with a turn-down collar, to the liip. an adjustable belt holding it in slightly, below the waist. A small trian-
neath the belt. The belt. collar, sleeves and pocket are edged with an oriental embroidered braid in yellows and blues. Millinery is more interesting and attractive than it has been in many reasons. The "coxcomb" and "skyscraper" effects prophesied early in the spring, are here in all their variations. The skyscrapers turn up decidedly on one side, very sharply and very high, while the coxcomb effect is achieved largely with high bands of plaited ribbon running straight across the center of the hat from front to back. The new sailors are oddities, indeed, with very short back brim and very long front, exaggerated by some sort of ornament sticking stiffly forward. Flowers and fruit are to be used profusely. Jet ornaments, jet-
stemmed llowers and feathers and gayly figured ribbons will also be used j extensively. ! The Paul Poiret silks are the fea- i
ture of the dress goods department.
